This week, we kicked off a three-month trial at Cleanwash’s crate washing facility in Hoogeveen.
Cleanwash specialises in cleaning reusable packaging for producers in the food industry. From crates and pallets to large Dolav pallet boxes.
Clean crates, more sustainable process
Kevin Prent, Operations Manager at Cleanwash, explains how FerSol® came into the picture as part of their efforts to make the cleaning process more sustainable:
“At Cleanwash, sustainability is a top priority. Our facility runs entirely without gas, and we’re constantly looking for ways to improve. Our customers increasingly expect more sustainable solutions too. One of our key goals was to eliminate chlorine from the process.”
Cleaning without chloride and at low temperatures
“During a conversation about this, VSD introduced us to FerSol®. It enables us not only to wash without chlorine, but also at lower temperatures. After discussions with VSD, ViVoChem and Ferr-Tech, we honestly thought: this sounds almost too good to be true. But after several test runs, we saw the results we were hoping for.”

We’re now able to wash at lower temperatures too, reducing the heat from 45 to 35 degrees Celsius. That helps lower our energy use and reduce costs.”
A positive collaboration with Ferr-Tech
“Now we’re entering the next stage: a three-month trial to validate the use of FerSol® in our day-to-day operations.
